What is The Food Place? It's a community centre initiative to move the existing cafe to the front of the building by the Castillon Road bus stop.

We have been asking the community and local organisations what they think and have had help from the Glasshouse Trust and Global Action Plan in shaping our ideas and the Whitefoot Ward Mayor's Fund in testing it out.

Our very first event, The Pop Up Cafe, was held on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 March as part of the Equinox Festival. In conjunction with Children's Centre and North Downham Training Project, the space was transformed into a cafe serving healthy snacks and advice to local families.

Two more Pop Ups took place in April and May, one on Tuesday 22 June at the Goldsmiths AGM and the last at the Health and Wellbeing Day in October in conjunction with Downham Nutrition Partnership. Please read our blog or click the links to find out more.
