Pop Up Cafe 6 May 2010

The third Popup Cafe was held on 6th May - election day. The centre is a polling station and it was an opportunity to show new visitors how to make bread by hand and with a machine. Ruth from Downham Nutrition Partnership brought in some wonderful bread from Le Pain Quotidien to taste and we also had gluten free and corn bread.

The Popup Cafe made its second appearance at the Limelight 10th Anniversary Fun Day on 17 April. This time tables were set in the garden and families tucked into to healthy fruit, veg and dips in the sunshine.

On 13th April Andrea and Susanna from the Allotments Learning Project, Graeme Slate from Forster Park Primary School and a local family all 'dug in' to create a new vegetable plot in the garden at the community centre. Home made compost along with peas, beans and squash have all gone in to the ground and we look forward to watching them grow!

The Equinox, a two day festival to celebrate the beginning of spring had something for everyone and a good time was had by all. 'The Equinox' an interpretation was created by our very own aerosol artists, with the help of Mark Davis, for the community festival on 19-20 March 2010.
